Electric Mills
The most important piece of equipment for home milling
All of the following mills are highly rated and reviewed for at-home milling. I have the Wonder Mill which is a two piece system and works great. The Mockmill, Komo and wood Nutrimill systems don’t have an attached bowl but have a slightly more aesthetic appearance.

Whole Grain Berries
top sources for high-quality wheat and grains.
Sourcing good quality grains is key. Look for organic, non-GMO or certified glyphosate-free grains from reputable sources. Here are my favorite places to source whole-grain berries for milling:
- Azure Standard– An online coop with a huge selection of hard white wheat, soft white wheat, einkorn, spelt, kamut and almost every grain you could want. The benefit to ordering in bulk is the price is much lower. Make sure there is a drop location near you before signing up.
- Pleasant Hill Grain– Another online purchase option located in Nebraska. My mom has ordered from this company many times and really enjoyed their grains.
- Amazon– Of course, Amazon has some great options for grain berries. They don’t have the cheapest pricing but if you have Prime the shipping is free.
- Country Life Natural Foods– Country life natural foods has some really great pricing and they offer free shipping on orders over $99
- Grain Mill Collective– If you are local to Raleigh NC, this is where I order most of my grains and they have the best prices around. They also have shipping options.

Here is a collection of my favorite baking essentials. I love using cast iron for the majority of my baking. These accessories are not completely necessary but they make cooking from scratch easier.
