Description
Kefir ranch dressing is a probiotic-rich, tangy, and creamy alternative to the typical store-bought dressings packed with seed oils and sweeteners. If you’re looking to add more probiotic foods to your family’s diet, this kefir ranch dressing recipe is the perfect way to do it!
Ingredients
Scale
-
- 1/2 cup plain kefir (or store-bought kefir like Lifeway)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup cup mayo (try avocado oil mayo or homemade mayonnaise)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon dried tarragon (optional)
- Pinch of fresh cracked black pepper (to taste)
- Pinch of mustard powder
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions
- In your blender, combine plain kefir, sour cream, and mayo and blend until smooth.
- Add 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp parsley, 1/2 teaspoon dill, 1/2 teaspoon chives, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pinch of black pepper, pinch of tarragon, pinch of cayenne pepper, and pinch of mustard powder. Blend well.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. If you want a thicker dressing, you can add a little more greek yogurt or sour cream.
- Transfer the dressing to a mason jar and refrigerate. Serve over your favorite seasonal food, salads, or as a dip for favorite foods like fresh veggies!
Notes
- For a thicker dressing, reduce kefir to 1/4 cup and increase greek yogurt to 3/4 cups.
- If you do not have all the herbs listed, it will still turn out great. This recipe is very forgiving.
- If you do not have a blender, use a whisk or hand mixer.
